Popis: | Poly(o-trimethylsllyl)-phenylacetylene (PTP) film, which was swollen in acetone under a high magnetic field of 15 T, showed birefringence and dichroism. Comparing the IR dichroism of magnetic-field-treated film with that of mechanically stretched film, it was found that the polymer long chain was aligned perpendicularly to the magnetic field. This alignment originated from the magnetic anisotropy of crystalline structures in PTP film. |
