Popis: The diagnosis of pancreatic fracture using computerized tomography (CT) is made by identifying a linear defect in the pancreas, often with a variable amount of peripancreatic fluid. However, the fat surrounding arterial and venous vessels which penetrate the pancreas can give a very similar CT appearance – a previously unreported finding. This report describes the CT appearance of such defects as well as the macroscopic and microscopic analysis of the vessels penetrating the pancreas in a cadaver having this CT finding.
