A high efficient cooperative transmission method for multi-satellite collocation systems

Popis: To enhance the capacity and spectrum efficiency of existing satellite resources, cooperative transmissions are widely considered in geostationary orbit satellite collocation (GEOSC) systems. However, the existing cooperative transmission methods mainly focus on two-satellite GEOSC systems, which might not be helpful to improve the performance of a multi-satellite collocation (MSC) system. In this paper, we propose a general optimization criterion and a high efficient cooperative transmission strategy for an MSC system, where the channel capacity can be evaluated and optimized. Through setting the scale factor, the developed method enables the MSC system to determine whether or not to apply the cooperative transmission. Furthermore, in the cooperative transmission mode, the MSC system can pair a certain number of ground users to improve the system performance according to the proposed optimization criterion. Simulation results demonstrate that the MSC system outperforms the existing GEOSC systems by using the proposed transmission approach.
