Popis: The incremental growth of the global population and the living standards stress out the available sources due to the corresponding increase in the utilization of the energy. The effects deriving from the exceeding environmental carrying capacity draw up urgent attention to the policies and the actions to be undertaken to tackle with them. On the other hand, the mismatch between the demand and the supply curves which primarily characterizes the energy systems may further worsen the situation and the resources waste, giving rise to the investigation of better ways on the efficient and cost-effective exploitation of the technologies used. The continuous research induces new body of knowledge in the light of new policy implementations to approach the multi energy systems and their dynamic responses, the interoperability behavior, the functionalities, and the embedded abilities and it is always in the cutting edge of our interest. This chapter aims to investigate the trends and the state-of-the-art perspectives in twofold, (1) to analyze the recent technological advances of the energy systems issues and (2) to assimilate the low carbon strategies and perspectives.
