Popis: | The Universal Filtered Multi-Carrier (UFMC) system is a promising contender for next-generation 5G wireless communication. UFMC has better sub-carrier separation like Filer Bank Multi-Carrier (FBMC) and provides minimal complexity like Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). Hence, in this chapter, the UFMC system has been proposed with different prototype filters for shaping the waveforms and to increase performance. The performance of the UFMC system is analysed for important parameters such as Power Spectral Density (PSD), Block Error Rate (BLER), Bit Error Rate (BER) and Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR). The filters considered for the analysis are the Hermite filter, the PHYDIAS filter, the Root Raised Cosine (RRC) filter and the Rectangular filter. The analysis shows that among the four filters, the Hermite filter offers the best performance. This filter provides 72%, 63%, 67% and 29% enhanced performance for the parameters PSD, BLER, BER and PAPR, respectively. |
