Popis: | A description of SGML (Standard Generalised Markup Language) is given together with a detailed description of WIPO Standard ST. 32. The benefits of the use of SGML are highlighted — its system independence and flexibility in building publication systems and full-text databases. The use of SGML for patent document processing and how it might be beneficial for patent departments and representatives to use SGML in their own document systems, as well as for electronic filing of applications, is discussed. Reference is made to its use in the European Patent Office. |
