Popis: Summary Tularemia is an illness rare in France. This disease occurs very often after a contact with an infected hare but can also be transmitted by ticks. Ticks transmit tularemia via coxal fluid, feces and salivary injection. Six clinical types exist : ulceroglandular, glandular, oculoglandular, pharyngitis, septicemia, pulmonary, all exist when the infection is transmitted by ticks. The diagnosis is made by the isolation of Francisella tularensis or the serology. The standard treatment is based on aminoglycosides but quinolones seem to be very promising.
