Popis: | The solubility of amorphous thorium hydrous oxide in 0.1M NaClO4, pH 6-12 was found to be lower than 4.3.10-11M and to increase in presence of soluble silicates. The interaction of soluble silicates with ThO2.nH2O precipitate was shown to consist of sorption and chemo-sorption of soluble silicates on the precipitate with the formation of amorphous thorium hydroxo-silicates. The formation of stable colloidal solutions of composition 10-3-10-2 M Th (TV); 0.08-0.14 M Si(IV) at pH 6-12 takes place. A solubility of 10-6-10-5 M Th(IV) was found after separation of the colloidal particles from these solutions by ultra-filtration. The observed effects of soluble silicates would result in an increase of the leaching and the migration of thorium (IV) with silicate-bearing natural waters and should be taken into account for the treatment of the neutral and alkaline radioactive wastes-pulps, containing actinides (IV) and silicates. |
