Popis: | By inserting width discontinuities in the middle of a rectangular microstrip patch, the length of a microstrip antenna can be significantly reduced at a given operating frequency. However, as the antenna size is reduced, the radiation efficiency becomes degraded. In this paper, it is shown that the radiation efficiency is improved substantially when the single junction at each width discontinuity is replaced by multiple junctions. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
