Popis: Two new species of neotropical spore-feeding thrips are described in which the males lack fore tarsal teeth but have large tubercles laterally on the abdomen. The significance of these structures for fighting behaviour amongst males is discussed, together with the systematic and taxonomic problems of variation in male structure both within and between species.
