Popis: This chapter presents estimates of: (1) the expected energy savings from several technologies being employed in US broiler houses, including wider houses, more efficient ventilation fans, replacing curtain walls with solid walls, litter treatments to reduce ammonia emissions, and circulation fans for heat distribution; (2) the extent to which these technologies are being adopted; and (3) the potential for energy savings attributable to these new technologies on an industry-wide basis.
