Inverse Compton scattering in a strong magnetic field and the spectrum of gamma-ray bursts

Popis: We believe that inverse Compton scattering in strong magnetic field may be the main emission mechanism of γ ray bursts. Protons in the source region generate low-frequency photons which, through Compton scattering by nonthermal electrons in a strong magnetic field, gives rise to the spectrum. Using the Compton scattering cross section under a strong magnetic field in the non-relativistic case ( B B cr ⪡ 1 , hν i m e c 2 ⪡ 1 ), we have successfully fitted the observed spectrum of typical burst GB 811016.
