Popis: | When tooth trace modification is performed on a helix gear by the form grinding method, the extended length of the simultaneous contact line in the direction of the gear axis influences the accuracy of tooth trace modification and tooth profile. To reduce the tooth trace and the tooth profile error, the grinding wheel profile must be designed such that the extended length of the simultaneous contact line becomes short. This extended length can be shortened by selecting the optimum setting angle of the grinding wheel. When the values of coordinates and the slope of the tangent at points on the work tooth profile are given, the optimum value of the grinding wheel setting angle which minimized the extended length can be obtained under the condition of no interference. Processed examples of tooth trace modification based on this idea are shown. The results show that form grinding is a processing method capable of dealing with tooth trace modification. |
