Popis: Studies have shown that the quality of life of MS patients is lower than that of people without the disease and other chronic diseases (Rudick et al., 1992; Amato et al., 2001). The main factors affecting the quality of life are depression and fatigue. Another factor is the perception of illness. The effect of disease perception on quality of life has been studied in many diseases, including MS (Japson and Morris, 2003). The reason for the effect of the perception of illness on the quality of life is the course of the disease and its effect on the psychological health of the patient. Another variable that has an effect on these factors is the expression of emotion. In the literature, there are studies showing that the style of expressing emotion of the patient's relatives has an effect on the course of the disease and the psychological health of the patient (Band and Wearden, 2014; Creus et al., 2014). The aim of the present thesis is to investigate the relationship between the perception of illness and quality of life in MS patients and the effect of emotion expression on this relationship.
