Popis: | We have used the IRAS Point Source Catalog to select circumstellar SiO maser objects solely according to their IR properties in the catalog and to acquire a large and uniform database. The power of the point source catalog in selecting the maser candidates is demonstrated by the fact that 156 new 86 GHz SiO, v=1, J=2→1 masers were found. The number of known SiO maser sources at the moment is approximately 350 which already allows a statistical study of their properties. The IRAS colours and the low resolution spectra of the SiO maser objects are discussed in this paper. |
