Popis: Healthcare is one of the fields that is expeditiously advancing in its services and technology. Remote monitoring of patients has been a recent progress in this line of science, which has proven to have many benefits in the present burgeoning world population. To keep track of patient's health condition inside the hospital rooms, from relatively elementary applications, the technology has developed to an extent that the patient is allowed to perform regular activities at home being remotely monitored by means of wireless sensor network (WSN). Telemedicine healthcare system provides the means of medical treatment remotely. This paper illustrates a real time telemonitoring system that will keep track of patients' body parameters like temperature, heart rate and galvanic skin response (GSR). These latest technologies keep track of patients' vital signs without exposing them to costly diagnosis procedures. It also provides periodic updates and dependable reports to the medical practitioners for further investigation. The sensors are interfaced with Arduino and the GUI was implemented in MATLAB. With the help of global system for mobile communication (GSM), Zigbee (S2 module), radio frequency identification (RFID) and internet cloud computing, the proposed system offers the required portability to be used in remote and under-privileged areas for achieving the improved healthcare facilities and is also economically viable.
