This report summarizes the work performed at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in evaluating a new testing methodology for recreating the response of a component that is connected at multiple points to another structure. The goal is to account for both the change in impedance when the component is mounted to the shaker, and on faithfully reproducing the environment. The change in impedance will be matched by using the transmission simulator method, which is a process for experimental to analytical substructuring. The environment will then be replicated by using MIMO multi-axis testing. Results from applying this methodology to a two-dimensional Frame on C-beam setup achieved respectable accuracy in recreating the environmental response of a subcomponent. |
