Aim of this study is the smoking process modeling with visualizing of the smoke microparticles' residue on the walls of the digestive and respiratory tracts. We investigated the factors that contribute to the deposition of microparticles in the bronchia. Such deposition can lead to bronchial obstruction and further penetration of microparticles into the alveoli. Three degrees of optical density of smoke microparticles deposited on the mucosa were determined which characterize the layer thickness, deposition mechanisms (impaction, sedimentation, diffusion), and its precise localization. |
