Popis: | 1. The economically alloyed austenitic stainless steel 0Kh20N4AG10 (NN-3, EP-319) has high mechanical properties at the temperature of liquid hydrogen (−253°C). 2. First and second order stresses resulting from thermal and mechanical treatments (cold working) have a substantial effect on the plasticity of the steel (reduce it), particularly stresses induced by mechanical treatment. To remove these stresses it is recommended that parts be tempered at 440–460°C for 3 h, with cooling in the furnace or in air, after mechanical treatment. 3. In estimating the mechanical properties of austenitic steels at low temperatures it should be kept in mind that the plasticity may decrease as the result of residual first and second order stresses occurring during thermal and mechanical treatments. 4. In estimating the mechanical properties at−253°C one must keep in mind the possibility of martensite formation and the effect of the presence of stresses on this process. |
