Popis: | γ-ray and neutron irradiation effects on ferrous and ferric oxalates are investigated by methods of nuclear γ-resonance spectrometry in combination with a gravimetric analysis of the dose effect on the phase ratio. Samples are irradiated by γ-rays of an Co60-source with doses up to 1420 Mrad and by neutrons in the reactor core up to an integral dose of 5 × 1017 neutrons/cm2. It is found that only Fe3+ oxalate is susceptible to radiolysis while Fe2+ oxalate at the attained doses does not undergo any changes. The study reveales the fact that the probability of a recoilless process of the formed Fe2+ oxalate is 1.4 times less than that of FeC2O4. 2 H2O synthesized by a chemical way. Based on the obtained results the conclusion is drawn that the radiolysis of Fe3+ oxalate is caused by electronic ionization and exitation and does not depend on the nature of incident particles.
