| Popis: | A granulosa cell tumor measuring 11 × 7.5 × 5 cms. from a 51 year old woman was studied by electron microscope. The cellular tumor consists of cells showing some morphological similarity to those of the granulosa cells of the normal developing follicles. The cells are packed one to another and are arranged in large groups encircled by thin bundles of connective tissue. Small pieces of tissue were taken from different areas of the tumor masses and quickly fixed in buffered 1% osmium tetroxide, embedded in Epon 812, and viewed in a RCA-MU electron microscope. The Call-Exner bodies were composed of fine granular amorphous substance which frequently contained one or more cells similar to those of the tumor, cells going to regessive process, and in many instances debris of cells. |
