Popis: The purpose of this literature review was to explore the lack of parental involvement in a learner’s process. Having both parents in the home can affect a child mentally and academically. The theoretical framework that helped to develop this literature review was based on the ecological theory by Bronfenbrenner. The ecological theory focused on child development. Therefore, Bronfenbrenner scope was based on a complex system of relationships. Parental involvement is an ongoing problem across our public learning institutions. Additionally, the lack of parental involvement is discussed at length, particularly how the lack of parental involvement affects students in the process.
