Popis:	Blacodatus szutkowskii, sp. nov. from South Africa is described, illustrated and compared with its relative — Blacodatus vertagus (Mulsant et Rey, 1859). A new generic concept of the previously monotypic Blacodatus is proposed. The distribution map is presented.
