Popis: | The multimodal biometric systems optimization is approached with a biometric data fusion model that is based on an intra-modal and inter-modal feature combination. The intra-modal feature fusion is applied for the same biometric trait and it is suitable also for a system with a single biometric (unimodal). The inter-modal feature fusion is applied for multi-biometric systems (multimodal). The proposed data fusion model provides a better exploitation of the extracted features within a suitable combination of intra- and inter-modal fusion rules. It shows the potential of the feature-level fusion for human identification accuracy enhancement, despite of the actual challenges for its implementation. |
