Popis: 1. During the reorganization of a beneficiation plant with water recycling, a close correlation between the selectivity of flotation of complex copper-nickel sulfide ores and the sulfoxide ion concentration in the recycled water and pulp was found. This necessitated the control of the ionic composition of the pulp. 2. Correction of the ionic composition of the pulp should be achieved by adding a modifier before the copper flotation, to give the optimum thiosulfate: sulfate ratio, i.e., 0.5–0.75. 3. Efficient modifiers for chalcopyrite-cubanite-pyrrhotite ores are sodium sulfite and potassium bisulfite, the consumption of which depends on the seasonal variations in the recycled water quality. 4. The selectivity is better than that achieved in fresh water, and the recovery of nickel into the copper concentrates is reduced by 5–7%, with a consequential increase in the copper: nickel ratio from 12.4 to 15.4–18.4. The index of selectivity is increased by 14–16%.
