Popis:	This paper describes the issues to consider when designing a laboratory to be constructed in a rural environment in Kenya. The paper bases its details on a project currently underway by a team of volunteer engineers, students and graduates of a non-profit organization. The project includes the construction of a hydraulic flume, a piping network, and a pumping system at a university in Kenya.
