Automated risk estimation based on fault trees and fuzzy probabilites

Popis: In this contribution a safety analysis applicable in early phases of product development based on the CARTRONIC function structure and termed CARTRONC based safety analysis (CSA) is introduced. It comprises a qualitative risk evaluation to identify safety critical elements and assess the placement of safety measures as well as a quantitative approach where failure probabilities are calculated, consequences evaluated and a risk entity estimated by a rule based fuzzy methodology founded on an automatically generated fault tree from the function structure. Abstract safety measures suitable to use in early phases of product development are brought to attention which can be used for verifying safety related improvements of the function structure.
