ABSTRACT The article considers the issues of continuous monitoring of the situation at the marshalling yard and detection of the possibility of occurrence of dangerous situations. An approach is proposed for constructing an automated intellectual subsystem for analyzing and timely forecasting the critical utilization of railway sorting units. The solution of the problem is proposed with the help of network communication technologies due to the use of information from automated data collection systems and the neural network decision support subsystem.
