Popis: | 22094 Background: A seven-question instrument to inquire about the family history of breast (BC), ovarian (OC) and colorectal cancer (CRC) was developed to identify patients at-risk for hereditary breast cancer (HBC) syndromes within a large population-based cohort study, the Nucleo Mama Porto Alegre Cohort. The questionnaire was applied to women in primary care units (PCU) from an underserved urban area of Southern Brazil. Patients answering positively to at least one of the questions were referred to genetic cancer risk assessment (GCRA). Methods: The instrument included questions about a FH of BC under age 50, bilateral or male BC, double primary breast and ovarian cancers in the same person, BC or OC in a first degree relative (FDR), two or more relatives with BC, OC and/or CRC.
