In this paper, a Distributed Generation System (DGS) with voltage support capability is studied, in order to meet the requirements of additional ancillary services controllers with an improved performance are needed. The proposed controller is composed of two elements: on one hand a Model Predictive Controller (MPC) which is intended to calculate the control action which minimizes the current tracking error and the control effort; on the other hand, a feedforward term is employed for the purpose of rejecting the effect of the voltage at the point of common coupling (PCC), which is considered a measurable disturbance of the system. The system under study comprises a three-phase inverter with an LCL output filter connected to the grid. Simulation results are presented to validate the performance of the system under overvoltage and undervoltage scenarios. |
