The purpose of this paper is to report the development of a bifacial cell process for CZ silicon. This is an in-line process simple and totally industrial suitable to manufacture thin bifacial solar cells. Screen printing techniques have been selected to create both emitters and metal contacts for its low cost to be used in industrial large production lines. Key points are the creation of a phosphorus selective emitter and the optimization of the firing point for the boron emitter using a Ag-Al-Si alloy screen printable paste to reduce shunting and avoid bowing while contacting boron emitters for thin cells. Good performance has been achieved before metallizing for both p+nn+ and n+pp+ structures respectively leading to Voc>616 mV and tb>500 μs with n and p-type CZ substrates (120 μm) with resistivities ranging from 1 to 6 F·cm. Further experiments led to p+nn+ cells showing Voc>597 mV, Jsc~27 mA/cm2, with acceptable series resistance of 0.8 Ω.cm2 (taking into account we deal with bifacial cells), FF>0.74 and front efficiencies better than 12 % without a SiNx coating.
