Popis: | The results of the measurement of the complex permittivity of water and heavy water at temperatures up to 533 K along the coexistence curve are presented. At temperatures above 390 K the dielectric relaxation time of water is found to obey an exponential temperature dependence. To explain the non-Arrhenius behaviour of the relaxation time at temperatures below 390 K, an interpretation based on the percolation model of water is proposed. The interpretation provides an explanation for the absence of an appreciable distribution of dielectric relaxation time in water. The approach based on the percolation model is applied also to describe the unusual temperature behaviour of the self-diffusion coefficient of water. |
