Popis: The paper presents the principles of implementation of the autonomous (using the target equipment of the spacecraft, without using other spacecrafts (SC) and ground-based facilities) navigation system of the spacecrafts for the Earth remote sensing (ERS SC). The relevance of the creation in the method is shown, which allows determining the orientation of the axes of the target equipment and the position of the spacecraft in orbit using only images obtained from the target equipment of the ERS SC. The advantage of the proposed autonomous navigation system ERS SC over navigation systems using GPS or ground-based trajectory measurement tools is shown. The necessary requirements for the target equipment of the ERS SC for the possibility of implementing an autonomous navigation system are also presented. It is also shown that the main element of the algorithm for determining the position of the spacecraft in orbit is the determination of the coordinates of the center of the Earth’s image. A method for determining the center of the Earth based on the observation of the Earth’s limb is presented. The principles of solving the problems of determining the center of the Earth image for various versions of the target equipment of the ERS SC used are presented. The options of creation of the autonomous navigation system on the basis of the existing astroenvironments are given. The spectral range of radiation in which the Earth limb should be surveyed is determined and justified.
