Goals and objectives of the total Biome effort are to relate productivity, nutrient cycling, energy flow and other ecosystem parameters of the Eastern Deciduous Forest Biome to geographical patterns, age-class distribution, and trophic structure; to analyze the processea regulating transfers of materials and energy among the components of these ecosystems and between local systems of various scales; and to synthesize the results of these and previoua studies into predictive models of scosystem behavior. A list is included of some 550 publications that report the results of studies made during 1970 through 1973. (CH) |
