Popis: | To assess progress in implementing the Program aimed at eliminating tuberculosis (TB) in Russia, the author has analyzed TB incidence in 2001-2020. The analysis results showed that in order to obtain reliable information, it is necessary to monitor not only the overall TB incidence, but also its structural components, such as the incidence of TB-HIV co-infection and the incidence of tuberculosis with multidrug resistance, that could have a negative impact on the prospects for reducing the overall TB incidence to the target values. Purpose: to analyze TB incidence in Russia in dynamics in 200120-20. Material and methods: information from the Federal statistical observation forms No. 8 and No. 33, as well as the Rosstat data on the Russian average annual population, for 2001-2020. Results: Over the past 20 years (2001-2020), there has been a steady decline in TB incidence in Russia; in 2020 the incidence rate equaled to 32.4 per 100,000 population. Such dynamics had a positive impact on the implementation of the TB Elimination Program in Russia, which has been fast progressing over the past 5 years. However, a widespread of TB-HIV co-infection registered in the last decade in a number of subjects of the Russian Federation, may have a negative impact on the dynamics in TB incidence in future, slowing down the rate of its decline, while the co-infection of HIV and multidrug-resistant tuberculosis can significantly increase the risk of death among patients with TB-HIV co-infection. |
