Popis:	On injecting hydrochloric acid intraduodenally in dogs narcotized with chloralose, there is a slight but marked fall in the arterial mean pressure; the effect is reversible and takes place in 40–50 minutes. During this time, the intensity of the pressor reflex elicited from the carotid sinus decreases temporarily. This phenomenon may also be demonstrated in dogs with cross-circulation, which points to humoral factors being involved. After duodenal acidifying, the rise in tension elicited through direct electric stimulation of the n. splanchnicus is temporarily smaller.
