Popis: Tetrafluorocatechol (tetrafluoro-1,2-dihydroxybenzene) has been found to form isolable complexes with transition metals (Ni2+ Cu2+ and Fe3+, and with germanium, acting as a chelating, dinegative, ligand. These complexes are few in number and of limited stability, suggesting that tetrafluorocatechol has less applicability as a ligand than related highly halogenated organic molecules. Complexes of tetrabromocatechol with Ni2+ are also described.
