Popis: | The need for a structured durability design process of reinforced concrete elements is strongly emphasized in the current study. Under such a framework, concrete service life estimation tools (SLTs) can be vital aids. Their utilization however is not an easy process and might lead to confusing results for the same element under the same harsh environment, as it is presented via a case study in this work. The reasons for such a behavior are explained and the next steps and research actions that have to be taken in establishing a widely accepted durability design process are discussed. |
