Qualification of 32% BOL and 28% EOL Efficient XTE Solar Cells

Popis: An advanced version of the XTJ family of space solar cells called XTJ Targeted Environment (XTE) has passed AIAA S-111 cell level qualification at Spectrolab. The XTE SF (standard fluence) and HF (high fluence) variants have demonstrated an average AM0 efficiencies of 32.2% and 32.0% at standard test conditions respectively in the qualification build. The EOL efficiency post 1e15 e-/cm2, 1 MeV irradiation for the XTE-SF and HF are at 28%. The XTE LILT cells have also achieved a JPL validated BOL efficiency of 36% under AM0 9.5 AU, -165°C, Saturn conditions.
