Popis: | Objective of present paper was to characterize the moisture absorption and its effect on erosion wear behavior of eggshell nanoparticulate reinforced epoxy composite. Composite of different weight percentage ranging from 1 to 4 of eggshell nanoparticulate filler epoxy was fabricated by hand layup technique. Small pieces of composites were taken and exposed to different environment conditions (Mineral Water, Salt Water, and Moist Soil). At various impingement angles (30°, 45°, 60°, and 90°) erosion wear behavior was studied for above mentioned different environment condition. 1 wt% eggshell particulate epoxy composite showed the lowest weight gain for different environmental conditions. Moisture absorption was found to be maximum in saline water while least absorption was observed in mineral water. Composites showed typical behavior when exposed to Moist Soil. 2 wt% eggshell nanoparticulate composite showed least erosion rate among all the variation of composites. The maximum erosion rate found at 60 degree of sand impingement angle, which describes semi-brittle nature of composite. |
