Popis:	The sequential "artificial vs. natural experiment" described here aimed at investigating use-wear formation on two different raw materials when unidirectional cutting movements were performed on hard as well as on soft contact materials. Simultaneously, artificial contact materials were tested as a controlled proxy within the experimental design To limit the number of confounding factors, the samples are standardised and the experiment was performed with a mechanical device.
