In the course of the work, measures are being studied to improve the lightning protection of the 35 kV line from double-circuit outages using a linear arrester. An overview of the main parameters of lightning, the consequences of a lightning strike for current-carrying elements and means of protection against lightning surges is given. In the EMTPWorks software package, an equivalent circuit for overhead lines has been created for calculating lightning overvoltages.
