Popis: SUMMARY A study is reported of the age, breed, and sex distributions of atrial fibrillation in dogs, its association with various types of underlying heart disease, and its prognostic significance. Clinical heart disease was present in 877 of 30,663 dogs surveyed, and 55 (6.27 per cent) had chronic atrial fibrillation. Prevalence, which was significantly higher in giant breeds, increased with age and was higher in males than in females.
