An ESR investigation of cool and two-stage flames stabilized in a flat-flame burner determination of peroxy radical, oxygen, and temperature profiles

Popis: Peroxy radicals have been detected and their composition profiles obtained from a cool or two-stage flame. Diffusion of hydroperoxy radicals is observed in the unburned gases before the cool flame front. The shift between the maxima of the net reaction rates or the temperature and the maximum of the concentration of peroxy radicals is related to the thermokinetic aspect of the cool-flame process. These results are in good agreement with those previously obtained in a static system.
