Popis: Recycling and waste recovery are now considered as a solution for the future in order to meet the deficit between production and consumption and to protect the environment. The incorporation of glass waste in the concrete matrix allows us to sustain and preserve natural resources and protect the environment. Composite materials are widely used in the containment of concrete columns to meet the needs of improving their mechanical performance. The different techniques and models confinement of these composite materials reported in the scientific literature have confirmed that the lateral pressure of the confinement is a function of the geometric and mechanical characteristics of the composites. Our work consists in studying, by numerical simulation the compression behaviour of concrete cylinders based on glass waste confined by a polypropylene fabric. The fabric used is also from the waste recovery industry. The constituent materials are modelled according to numerical models namely: "Concrete Damaged Plasticity" and an orthotropic elastic model to predict the response of composites. Three types of containment were considered: total containment, circular partial confinement and helical partial confinement. In the case of circular confinement the width polypropylene fabric is variable. The Numerical simulation results obtained in terms of stress evolution and damage variables show an improvement in the strength and ductility of the specimens studied.
