Popis: A glabrous shrub or small tree to 4 m; branchlets grooved, bark grey-black; leafscars prominent; internodes 514 mm long. Leaves decussate. Petioles 3 mm long, canaliculate above. Laminas 2 4 x 0.8 1.4 cm, elliptic-oblong, coriaceous, yellowishgreen when dry; nerves not prominent, lateral nerves inconspicuous;, base cuneate to attenuate; margins entire; apex obtuse to acute (occasionally emarginate). Inflorescence terminal, lax, paniculate, composed of 2 5 decussately branched umbellate cymes; peduncles 1 4, terminal, 1 1.8 cm long, slender, 4-angled; bracts lanceolate, 1 x 0.25 mm. Flowers 3 4 mm in diameter; pedicels 2 mm long. Hypanthium to 1 mm long, cupular with internal ridges; lobes 4, minute, c. 0.5 mm, pink. Petals 4, elliptic to orbicular, 1.5 mm long, base slightly clawed, apex apiculate. Stamens 8, equal; filaments slender, linear-subulate, to 2 3 mm long; anthers falcate, 1.5 mm. Ovary sub-globose to truncate, to 1 mm, unilocular, placentation free-central; ovules (5 -) 6; style subulate, to 2 mm, stigma simple. Fig. 1.
