Popis: | Manufacturing companies are confronted with increasing market volatility. They have to cope with rapidly changing customer demands concerning product types, quantities and delivery dates. Production planning and control must compensate the resulting fluctuations in capacity demand. In this context, capacity control is an effective measure to ensure the adherence to delivery dates and thus strengthens companies’ competitiveness. Most approaches of capacity control focus on labour-oriented activities. This paper presents a novel approach of capacity control considering the potential of reconfigurable machine tools. The simulation results substantiate the often disregarded potential of reconfigurable machine tools. |
