Popis: | Primary texture changes during secondary recrystallization were studied for a high‐permeability grain‐oriented 3% Si–Fe alloy with AlN and MnS as grain‐growth inhibitors. Orientation distribution function (ODF) data were obtained at the sheet surface and midplane in the primary recrystallized condition and after several stages of a laboratory‐simulated box anneal. In the primary‐recrystallized condition, the ideal {554} 〈225〉 orientation was the strongest single texture component at both the surface and midplane, and this component was more intense at the surface. During simulated box annealing preferential primary grain growth occured which led to a significant intensification of orientations centered about {554} 〈225〉, particularly near the sheet surface. This preferential primary growth can be considered as a competitive process to secondary recrystallization of the cube‐on‐edge component. Volume fractions of material in regions centered about several ideal orientations were obtained by integration of the ODF, and these data are presented and discussed. |
