Popis: | Torsion of the omentum is a relatively rare disease, and only 71 adult cases have been seen in the Japanese literature as far as we could review. Recently we experienced a case of torsion of the omentum probably caused by obturator hernia, which might be the first case report in Japn. This disease presents difficulty in preoperative diagnosis, and is often operated on with a diagnosis of acute appendicitis. When bloody ascites and non-inflammable appendix are seen in operation, we must strictly examine the abdominal cavity, entertainig a possibility of this disease. |
