Popis: The connection between the conservation law for angular momentum and the anisotropy observed in cosmic-ray stars produced by energetic primaries is investigated. A model is proposed which is probably reasonable for noncentral nucleus-nucleus collisions and may have some meaning for nucleon-nucleon collisions; it is based on assuming that the disk-shaped "interaction volume" consists of many zones acting independently. If equilibrium is reached within individual zones, the particles emerging from one zone ought to be distributed isotropically in its center-of-mass frame. In a noncentral collision these frames will in general, in accordance with the conservation of momentum, be different for different zones. Some anisotropy in the total angular distribution follows, but on this model it could never reach the degree frequently observed.
